Facsimile plan south prospect ancient (1 Ergebnisse)

No Binding. Zustand: Very Good. Facsimile. Facsimile of the engraved pictorial plan produced by Robert Harman in 1724. Dedicated to Ralph Milbank of Hanaby. This is ONE HALF ONLY of the fascinating Prospect which is so large that it has been produced on 2 sheets of paper each measuring approx 21 x 34.5 inches - this is the right hand sheet only. The edges are adorned with hundreds of coats of arms. The River Swale runs across the foreground of the print, the Castle is in the foreground. There is a numbered key showing the various places of interest - the gallows, the Quaker burial site, the ducking stool, the various schools, churches and important houses, the location where Roman coins were found, the pinfolds, the Gaol, the bowling green etc. A fine production. The sheet is printed on thick paper and will be posted rolled, in a tube. Robert Harman (illustrator).…
