Published in London by John Russell Smith in the years 1854-60 in 12 parts, here bound in six, this is the First Edition of Eyton's "Antiquities of Shropshire" limited to only 300 copies, illustrated with 135 wood engraved plates and 15 folding maps, 8vo bound in old half leather bi…ndings with marbled paper covered boards, and marbled endpapers, with later replacement leather spines, top edges gilded, This set originally came from the Library of The Duke of Bedford, with his presentation bookplate presented to The Institution of Surveyors, at the front of each volume. The bindings have some wear to the leather corners which have been professionally restored, internally some foxing to endpapers, occasional marks to a few pages, else generally contents nice and clean. Books are heavy, nearly 11 kilos, overseas shipping costs will be significantly higher than the basic standard quote.
