Originally owned by the noted geologist F. C. Schrader and the front and rear cover contains his signature, very lightly written in pencil and almost unreadable. Fran…k Charles Schrader (1860-1944) of Harvard and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) was a well-known and respected American geologist, mineralogist, and entomologist, and author. He was known throughout the west as the prospector's friend and was also one of the first federal geologists to explore Alaska. Original dark orange wraps show spotting and soiling along with numerous creases, chips and tears. Spine also has chipping on top and bottom edges. Internal binding is good and text pages are secure. Paper is toned due to age and there is some spotting and foxing present. The title page has a bit of handwriting penciled along the top edge appears to be the only handwriting found in the book. The envelope in the rear the book is torn on all three sides but the map is still present and in excellent shape. Signed by Other.

Paper is toned due to age and there is some light foxing and spotting present. No handwriting found inside the book, no bookplates, no library markings. The title page has a small dampstain in the lower outside corner which carries in three or four pages. Signed by Other.
