4. Huy, imprimerie Gaston Gehenniaux, 15th november 1898, printed publicty cardboard. Size 30 x 54 cm. The board is coated on two sides with dark green coloured glossy paper. Only one side is printed. The printer used different elaborate printing techniques. The main words are printed in large cut out ( recess) lettering . The text is printed in silver. In the centre is a large embossed decoration ( consisting of bottles and a wine barrel within a floral frame). This is entirely printed in gold. On the right hand lower an official duty stamp obliterated in gilt printing ( date 15 th november 1898). In the upper margin are two small hollow copper rivits ( for attaching a suspension cord). This very remarkable and very elaborate piece of publicity printing is in an exceptionally state of preservation. It is in near mint condition and has obviously never been exposed, as would have been its purpose. The silver printing is still strikingly vivid. The gilt decoration however has a sligthly dull shade It is really an extraordinary specimen of the craftmanship of Belgian printers at the end of the 19th c. ( We have the same item available in an allmost totally different colour scheme.
