Manuskript / Papierantiquität
Draft British script for the 1973 film. Alec Guinness plays here against type, imbuing his Adolf Hitler with an introverted solemnity. Set almost entirely inside Hitler's Berlin bunker, the film chronicles the dying days of the Third Reich as the Allied armies close in on Berlin. Guinness' Hitler is an enclosed depressive who sinks slowly into madness, depression, and ultimately suicide as his 1000-Year Reich collapses around him. A co-production between Italy and the UK, made by Ennio De Concini, better known for his many exploitation films of the 1970s. Blue titled wrappers, with a die-cut title window in the British style. Title page present, dated 10th July 1972, with credits for screenwriter-director De Concini, screenwriters Fusco and Reinhardt, and English adaptation writer Moffat. 128 leaves, roneograph, on eye-rest green stock. Pages about Fine, wrapper Near Fine bound internally with two silver brads.

Vintage borderless photograph from the 1972 film, showing Richard Burton and Raquel Welch in an eerie moment before a kiss. With manuscript annotations in black marker and pencil, and three press agency stamps on the verso. Another addition to the many renditions of the Bluebeard tale in which the wealthy Baron von Sepper (Richard Burton) repeatedly murders and stores the bodies of his dead wives. This time his spouse and potential victim is Anne (Joey Heatherton), an American woman who must find a way to save herself after finding a freezer full of women in his castle. Shot on location in Budapest, Hungary and Rome, Italy. 10.5 x 8 inches. Near Fine.
