Ilustrado a preto e branco no texto com gravuras litografadas e em colotípia de selos e carimbos postais e em extratexto com 22 gravuras de colecções de selos (numeradas de A a V). Exemplar nº 120 de uma tiragem do autor de 200. Apresenta ligeiro desgaste de manuseamento nos cantos das pastas e o fólio da página xix solto da lombada. Impresso em papel couché com as gravuras em extratexto impressas em papel mais encorpado. Obra de grande rigor filatélico sobre os selos, marcas de água e carimbos postais emitidos no Uruguai e que fazem parte da colecção do autor. Inclui ainda, nas últimas seis páginas do livro, carimbos postais que o mesmo recolheu da colecção Latour e de ilustrações de Isidoro de Maria mas que não conseguiu obter fisicamente em envelopes ou selos. O autor (falecido em 1941) especializou-se nos selos do Uruguai e em 1933, foi galardoado com a Medalha Crawford pela Royal Philatelic Society de Londres por este seu trabalho ( The Postage Stamps of Uruguay ). Lee era um coleccionador tão entusiasta do Uruguai que chegou a ser apelidado de 'o homem que matou o Uruguai' porque durante a sua carreira filatélica adquiriu praticamente tudo o que era importante do Uruguai que entrou no mercado.
