Collection of ten vintage publicity photographs of Elyse Knox by photographer Ray Jones, with six photographs dating from 1942 and four from 1943. Three photographs with studio stamps crediting photographer Jones on the versos, and two with mimeo snipes on the versos. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Actress, model, and fashion designer, Eylse Knox appeared in nearly 40 films from 1937 to 1949. She is perhaps best remembered for her perfomance in the 1942 Universal horror film "The Mummy's Tomb," starring Lon Chaney Jr. Knox retired from acting in 1949 following her performance in the musical "There's a Girl in My Heart." 8 x 10 inches.
