Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. Oblong small octavo measuring 6.5" x 5". String-tied black paper wrappers with "Snapshots Souvenir of New York" stamped in silver on the front wrapper. Contains 39 sepia-toned or black and white gelatin silver photographs measuring between .5" x .5" and 3.5" x 5.5" with captions. Very good album with some creasing and edgewear with near fine photographs. A small album housing celebrity photographs from the late 1930s. The album begins with an inscription on the first page which reads, "from Arlene and Dick Palito May 1939." Following this are commercial shots of celebrities as well as candid photos of them. Actress Dixie Dunbar is seen in more photos then anyone presumably she was a friend of Dick and Arlene's. Other photos include Gordon Oliver lounging in a garden, Johnny Downs at a rodeo, and Otis Harlan on location in the desert. Some other celebrities seen here are James Ellison, Alice Faye, Marie Wilson, Preston Foster, and Donovan Hall. One photo shows Douglas Fairbank Jr. at what appears to be a rodeo signing autographs. A page towards the end of the album contains small portraits of Spencer Tracy, Jeanette MacDonald, and Luise Rainer. A modest but nice collection of 1930s celebrities photographs.

Paperback Library edition of this science fiction anthology extravaganza by five legendary authors. Octodecimo, original pictorial wrappers. Boldly signed by Frank Herbert above his name on page 58 where his short story begins, "The Second Fate: Murder Will In." Additionally signed by fellow contributor Harlan Ellison below his name on page 170 where his short story begins, "The Fourth Fate: The Region Between." In very good condition. Uncommon signed by Herbert. Five Fates (1970) is a science fiction anthology that brings together five novellas by Poul Anderson, Gordon R. Dickson, Harlan Ellison, Frank Herbert, and Keith Laumer, all developed from a shared narrative premise. Each story begins with a man named William Bailey entering a euthanasia center and receiving a lethal injection, after which the authors diverge dramatically in their interpretations of what follows. The resulting collection ranges from Herbertâs locked-room mystery âMurder Will Inâ to explorations of body transfer, parallel universes, and metaphysical survival, demonstrating how a single narrative seed can generate strikingly different speculative and philosophical outcomes.
