Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - The Wild Cat Of Europe: Felix Catus (1896) is a book written by Edward Hamilton that provides a comprehensive account of the European wild cat, also known as Felix catus. The book explores the physical characteristics, behavior, habitat, and distribution of the wild cat, as well as its relationship with humans and its role in European folklore and mythology. Hamilton draws on his extensive knowledge of the natural world and his experience as a hunter to provide a detailed description of the wild cat's hunting techniques, diet, and social behavior. He also discusses the threats facing the wild cat, including habitat loss and hunting, and advocates for its conservation. The book is written in a lively and engaging style, with vivid descriptions of the wild cat's behavior and interactions with other animals. It is illustrated with numerous black and white drawings and photographs, which help to bring the subject matter to life.Overall, The Wild Cat Of Europe: Felix Catus is a fascinating and informative book that will appeal to anyone with an interest in wildlife, conservation, or European folklore. It provides a valuable insight into the behavior and ecology of one of Europe's most iconic and enigmatic animals. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work. In den WarenkorbA nice piece of ephemera, associated with a landmark concert in the history of British popular music. 1p, 8vo. Twenty-three-line typed circular, with perforated order slip for tickets at end. In fair condition, lightly aged. Signed 'Donegall' and with autograph address to 'Dear Mac Queen Pope' (i.e. the theatre historian W. P. MacQueen Pope). The circular begins: 'I am writing to you because H. R. H. Princess Elizabeth has graciously consented to attend the Concert to be held by the National Federation of Jazz Organizations, of which I am President, at the Royal Festival Hall, South Bank, on Saturday evening, July 14th. / This Concert would have been in any case a great landmark in British Jazz because it is no small honour to this type of Folk Music to be granted the use of the Royal Festival Hall. But it becomes historical due to Her Royal Highness's intended presence - it is in fact to the best of my knowledge the first time that Royalty has publicly recognised this musical idiom.' He offers boxes to the event 'On behalf of my Kent Army Cadet Force Welfare' (on the letterhead Donegall is listed as one of four members of the 'Welfare Committee'). He concludes: 'Such has been the nation-wide interest in the revival of genuine Jazz Music that I am sure you will not want to miss this unique and royally honoured presentation of the best that Britain has to contribute in this branch of Music.'. …
