Presumed first ed.; 350 p., clean and unmarked on strong paper mildly age-toned--end pages of lesser quality are quite tanned; t.p. and frontis. color painting by Rosa Bonheur with torn corner are detached, with torn corner, but binding is otherwise firm; many b&w drawings within; in absence of d.j. the brown boards are bumped at corners with a ding on lower front board; moderate rubbing at crown and foot of spine.
