Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. The play was first published Verlag Herold, Berlin-Steglitz, 1915. Two copies of the translation of the play (the first final draft and the definitive version). Never published or performed. A4. pp. 50. Clear plastic covers with blue slide binders. Accompanied by a typed signed letter from David Playfair to a Peter(?) addressed from 90 Dartmouth Park Hill, London N19 5HU dated 27 January, 1992 and consisting of about 300 words in which he says he has tried 'to provide a faithful, rather than a poetic rendering of the German original.' Signed post it note to Peter ? on the definitive version saying 'please make a point of destroying the other one so as to avoid confusion.' Also included a page of photocopied notes on the historical background and key figures such as Richard I, Coeur-de-Lion and Theodoric the Great. An historical drama about Henry Hohenstaufen originally commissioned to celebrate the Emperor Wilhelm II's daughter Viktoria Luise's marriage to the Duke of Braunschweig. Very good.
