First edition hard back binding in contemporary full leather covered boards. Quarto. 9½'' x 7¼''. Contains 402 printed pages of text with 16 engraved folding plates and 1 large engraved folding table, complete. Armorial bookplate inside belonging to Sir Joseph Copley, 1st Baronet (died 11 Apr 1781) - born Joseph Moyle and change…d his name on inheriting Sprotbrough. The joints are cracked but the cords are holding, corners rubbed and splayed, rear end paper missing, plates complete and the text block is clean and without age toning to the paper.
