April 1982 in Grünheide bei Berlin) war ein deutscher Chemiker, Kommunist, Widerstandskämpfer gegen den Nationalsozialismus (Rote Kapelle und Widerstandsgruppe Europäische Union) und Regimekritiker in der DDR. Leben und Werk: Familiäres, Ausbildung und Parteizugehörigkeiten: Havemann war der Sohn der Kunstmalerin Elisabeth Havemann (geb. von Schönfeldt) und des Lehrers, Redakteurs und Schriftstellers Hans Havemann (18871985), der unter anderem das dadaistische Stück Weltgericht: Die Tragödie der Urlaute AEIOU unter dem Pseudonym Jan van Mehan veröffentlichte.[1] Von 1929 bis 1933 studierte Robert Havemann Chemie an den Universitäten von München und Berlin. Robert Havemann heiratete 1934 Antje Hasenclever. Ab 1946 war er Mitglied der SED. 1947 wurde die Ehe mit Antje Hasenclever geschieden. Zwei Jahre später heiratete Havemann Karin von Trotha. Diese Ehe wurde 1966 geschieden; ihr entstammen die Kinder[2] Frank Havemann (* 1949), Florian Havemann (* 1952) und Sibylle Havemann (* 1955, sie hat einen gemeinsamen Sohn mit Wolf Biermann). 1974 heiratete Robert Havemann Annedore (Katja) Grafe. NS-Diktatur: 1933 begann er bei dem Kolloidforscher Herbert Freundlich eine Dissertation über Ideale und reale Eiweißlösungen". Wegen der Machtübernahme der Nationalsozialisten trat er der Widerstandsgruppe Neu Beginnen" bei. Freundlich emigrierte Ende 1933 und Havemann wurde von den Nationalsozialisten aus dem Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institut für Physikalische Chemie und Elektrochemie entfernt. Dank eines DFG-Stipendiums konnte er 1935 mit einer physikalisch-chemischen Dissertation in Berlin promovieren. Danach arbeitete er sechs Jahre von 1937 bis 1943 an einer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit zu einem Giftgas-Projekt des Heereswaffenamtes. Robert Havemann initiierte mit Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs die Widerstandsgruppe Europäische Union". Über seinen Neffen Wolfgang Havemann stand er auch in regelmäßigem Kontakt mit Arvid Harnack und anderen aus der Berliner Roten Kapelle. 1943 habilitierte sich Havemann. Bald darauf erhielt die Gestapo Informationen über seine konspirative Tätigkeit. Er wurde 1943 verhaftet und noch im gleichen Jahr vom Volksgerichtshof unter Roland Freisler zum Tode wegen Hochverrats verurteilt. Durch die Fürsprache mehrerer Behörden und weil er an kriegswichtiger" Forschung beteiligt war, erhielt Robert Havemann Vollstreckungsaufschub bis zum Kriegsende. Im Zuchthaus Brandenburg musste er seine Forschungsarbeit fortsetzen. Am 27. April 1945 befreite ihn die Rote Armee. DDR-Wissenschaftler bis 1965: 1945 übertrug man ihm die Leitung des Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institutes für Physikalische Chemie und Elektrochemie in Berlin-Dahlem. Im Juni 1947 übernahmen die Länder der US-Besatzungszone die Schirmherrschaft und Finanzierung und integrierten Havemanns Institut in die Stiftung Deutsche Forschungshochschule Berlin-Dahlem". Bereits wenige Monate später wurde Havemann auf Betreiben amerikanischer Dienststellen als Direktor abgesetzt, durfte aber eine eigene Forschungsabteilung behalten. Im Januar 1950 erhielt Robert Havemann wegen seiner Agitation gegen die Wasserstoffbombe der USA Berufsverbot und Hausverbot. Noch im gleichen Jahr wurde er zum Direktor des Instituts für Physikalische Chemie an der Humboldt-Universität in Ost-Berlin und zum Ordinarius für Physikalische Chemie ernannt und trat der SED bei. Bei dieser Gelegenheit deklarierte man rückwirkend eine Parteimitgliedschaft Havemanns in der KPD seit 1932. Havemann arbeitete von 1946 bis ins Jahr 1963 mit dem KGB, dem Ministerium für Staatssicherheit und der Armeeaufklärung der DDR zusammen. So lieferte er als Geheimer Informator" (GI, Deckname Leitz") der Staatssicherheit bei 62 Treffen mit seinem Führungsoffizier mehr als 140 Einzelinformationen darunter an 19 Treffen auch belastende personenbezogene Angaben. Dies geht aus einer 2005 erschienenen Studie der Bundesbehörde für die Unterlagen des Staatssicherheitsdienstes der ehemaligen DDR hervor, die erstmals im Detail die Inhalte und Intensität der bereits seit den 1990er Jahren öffentlich bekannten inoffiziellen Stasi-Mitarbeit Havemanns untersucht. Havemann hatte demnach den Auftrag, über Stimmungen im ostdeutschen Wissenschaftsbetrieb zu berichten und wurde gezielt auf westdeutsche Wissenschaftler angesetzt. In seinen Berichten belastete er unter anderem DDR-Wissenschaftler mit Aussagen über deren eventuelle Absicht, aus der DDR zu fliehen. Bis 1963 war er Mitglied der Volkskammer der DDR und wurde 1959 mit dem Nationalpreis der DDR ausgezeichnet. Nachdem Robert Havemann im Wintersemester 1963/1964 an der Humboldt-Universität eine Vorlesungsreihe mit dem Thema Naturwissenschaftliche Aspekte philosophischer Probleme (veröffentlicht in der Bundesrepublik unter dem Titel: Dialektik ohne Dogma?) hielt und im Westen ein kritisches Zeitungs-Interview mit ihm erschien, erfolgte sein Ausschluss aus der SED, da sich das Regime zu sehr kritisiert fühlte. It analyzes the resulting partial conditionalization, called frequentist partial (F.P.) conditionalization, from different angles, i.e., with respect to partitions, segmentation, independence, and chaining. It turns out that F.P. conditionalization meets and generalizes Jeffrey conditionalization, i.e., from partitions to arbitrary collections of events, opening it for reassessment and a range of potential applications. A counterpart of Jeffrey's rule for the case of independence holds in our frequentist semantics. This result is compared to Jeffrey's commutative chaining of independent updates.The postulate of Jeffrey's probability kinematics, which is rooted in the subjectivism of Frank P. Ramsey, is found to be a consequence in our frequentist semantics. This way the book creates a link between the Kolmogorov system of probability and one of the important Bayesian frameworks. Furthermore, it shows a preservation result for conditional probabilities under the full update range and compares F.P. semantics with an operational semantics of classical conditional probability in terms of so-called conditional events. Lastly, it looks at the subjectivist notion of desirabilities and proposes a more fine-grained analysis of desirabilities a posteriori.This book appeals to researchers who are involved in any kind of knowledge processing systems. F.P. conditionalization is a straightforward, fundamental concept that fits human intuition, and is systematically linked to one of the important Bayesian frameworks.
