Das Symbol von Luxus und kapitalistischer Verheißung steht völlig losgelöst vom gewohnten urbanen Kontext auf der Landstraße bei Marfa, einem Nest in Westtexas. Marfas Bewohner, ihre Bedürfnisse und soziokulturellen Eigenheiten werden in geradezu romantischen Landschaftsfotografien dem Fremdkörper gegenübergestellt, der von Einheimischen als Backsteinbude errichtet und mit Stetson und Bierflasche in der Hand eingeweiht wurde.
