Douglas Percy Bliss (28 January 1900 - 11 March 1984 was a Scottish painter.Bliss's own art was exhibited around Britain. There was an exhibition of his work in the Glasgow School of Art, in the northern hemisphere summer of 1998. Much of the work of Bliss's youth has been lost. Most of his engravings were unpublished before the beginning of the War in 1939 and his entire collection was stolen during the Blitz. Decades later sixteen degraded blocks were identified at an auction. Most split when printing was attempted. Lord Barnard came home and found his wife in bed with Little Musgrave. His wife was unrepentant and Barnard mutilated her. ".Arise, arise, thou Little Musgrave, And put thy clothes on; It shall ne'er be said in my country I have kill'd a naked man." "And wish well to thy soul will I So long as I have life; So will I not for thee, Barnard, Although I'm thy wedded wife." "He cut her paps from off her breast; Great pity it was to see That some drops of this lady's heart's blood Ran trickling down her knee.'.
