KÜNSTLER: Dirk Stoop; TITEL: Pferde und Reiter; JAHR: undatiert; DARSTELLUNG: Zwei Blätter mit weidenden Pferden und Staffagefiguren in weitläufiger Landschaft.; BESCHRIFTUNG: Beide Blätter sind rechts unterhalb der Darstellung nummeriert. Blatt Nr. 3 sit zusätzlich in der Platte signiert "D. Stoop f.".; MAßE: Das Blatt misst ca. 15,0 x 20,0 cm, die Darstellung ca. 14,5 x 18,0 cm.; ZUSTAND: Kräftiger Druck. Das Blatt ist knapprandig beschnitten. Rückseitig Klebespuren der alten Montage. Das Papier ist altersbedingt gebräunt, leicht angeschmutzt und stellenweise fleckig. An Rand und Ecken minimal bestoßen. Die Darstellungen sind in einem guten Zustand.; PROVENIENZ: Aus Berliner Privatbesitz.; VITA: Dirck van der Stoop (geboren 1610/1618 Utrecht; gestorben 1681/86 ebenda) war ein niederländischer Maler, Zeichner und Radierer des Goldenen Zeitalters. Van der Stoop reiste viel, u.a. 1635-1645 nach Italien, 1661-1662 nach Portugal oder 1662-1665 nach England. Aufgrund dessen ist er auch unter anderen Vornamen, wie Thiery, Theodorich oder Roderigo bekannt. Sein Künstlerisches Werk umfasst hauptsächlich Landschaftsdarstellungen, oft mit Reitern und Jagdszenen, aber auch Darstellungen von Schlachten und Kämpfen, sowie Portraits und Stadtansichten.

This is the first print from a series of twelve featuring horses. In good condition, cropped within platemark, some faint foxing (mostly visible in the left edge).
