Boards have no wear and the text block is clean with very minor ageing. Matt jacket with some minor wear at spine ends and little grubby on the reverse only. In this book are reproduced, with an extraordinary fidelity to the colour of the originals, some of the masterpieces of the art. 'The Apocalypse', the earliest tapestry shown, dates from the end of the fourteenth century while the last plate, a pastoral scene entitled 'The Dance', was designed by J.B. Huet in 1780.
