Green cloth with central oval vignette containing a Christy illustation, lettered in gilt, additional decoration in light green and red, decorated endpapers, unpaginated (about 80-100 pages). Some light shelfwear, mainly rubbing to the corners and spine ends, good hinges, clean pages free from names or other markings. . Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

First copyright to James Whitcomb Riley -- 1888, 1899, 1902; Copyright 1902 to the Bowen-Merrill Company, just a year before it was to become the Bobbs-Merrill Company. Pages not numbered. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. Interior otherwise clean and unmarked, with bright, clean pages. Box is covered in gray paper, with red lettering and illustration on front. Corners of the box's top are split in poor condition, but is present and still houses book. A nice, illustrated copy of one of the Hoosier Poet's best-known poems.
