Wrappers. Large 4to. Program for the American premiere of a dramatized symphony benefiting the Rutland, Vermont USO. Music by Dexter Davison, words by Garth Prindon (but noted in the program as a pseudonym for Gordon Thomas). Gordon Thomas in his own name acted as narrator. Signed on the title page by Gordon Thomas next to his photograph. Short introduction by Sigmund Spaeth, who also gave a talk as part of the premiere. Lists of cast members in principal roles, a large group of "children of many nations," chorus members, etc., all named. Norman Rockwell is thanked for contributing art. There are three pages of charcoal drawings in the program, two of which are portraits, by local artist Alice Danolds. Many pages of advertisements from Vermont businesses. WorldCat shows only one copy, at the University of Vermont; we have followed their cataloging in the above. World War II home front ephemera. Patriotic historical pageant beginning with pioneer days. We found a couple of mentions of this pageant in historical newspaper archives available on the Internet, indicating there was a followup performance in another town in Vermont.
