Based on a story by Benjamin Manaster ("Goldstein," 1964, director), set in Texas just before the Civil War, with lead character named Carruthers, an Army Captain, and references to the Mexican Army and the Alamo. Black slave characters also present, as well as reference to the "N" word. It appears Carruthers is hung from the gallows at "Fade Out." White titled wrappers.
