Decorated throughout with charming illustrations.'Hungarian Cookery', written by Lilla Deeley, includes dishes such as honved szelet (soldiers' steaks), vagdalt libamelle (minced goosebreast) and rakott burgonya (potato pie).'Bouquet Garni', written by David de Bethel, includes dishes such as le canard a l'orange (duck roasted with orange), chicken a la morengo, and moules a la provencale. In the original quarter cloth bindings, with the original decorative paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with age toning to the boards and slightly more notable rubbing to 'Hungarian'. Rear hinge tender to 'Hungarian' and with marks to its rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. With offsetting the endpapers and the odd spot to 'Hungarian'. With an ownership bookplate to both front endpapers. Neat contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper of 'Bouquet Garni'. Very Good. book.

In den WarenkorbONE OF 50 COPIES, 7 signed images by Hiscock, a combination of etching and photogravure, each marked 'PP' (i.e., Printer's Proof), all but one with tissue guard (one guard slightly torn), title leaf and a bifolium with seven poems by Isabel Deeley, 56 x 45.5 cm, the sheets loose as issued within maroon cloth solander box, lettered to lid in a darker shade, near fine. An interpretation, in images and verse, of the 'All the world's a stage.' monologue from 'As You Like It' - describing the stages of human life. David Hiscock studied at St Martin's School of Art and the Royal College of Art - his work here is inventive and striking.
