An interesting work published by the Friends of Lewes Society, regarding the street names of Lewes. The work aims to explain the origins of many of the street names in the town, sometimes named from a previous trade or craft undertaken on the street, or the former home of gentry. Illustrated with a frontispiece, five plates and a double page plan of Lewes in 1620. In the original green cloth binding. Externally in excellent condition with minor shelf wear only. Slight bumping to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot. Near Fine. book.
