First Edition. First edition. Christmas card issued for the use of Zev and wife, Gertrude; Broughton; and fellow founder of Centaur Press, Kermit Sheet -- per OCLC, which locates only 3 copies. Prints a poem by Broughton inside with drawing on front by Zev depicting the arrival at a castle or cathedral of a bare-chested mermaid…queen with wings holding an ornate umbrella aloft as she perches perilously atop a prancing unicorn. INSCRIBED IN FRENCH BY ZEV "mes meilleurs voex!" [best wishes], beneath which he has signed his wife's name (Gertrude) followed by "Zev" over which he adds a jeweled crown. 12 x 7.75" leaf folded once to make a 6 x 7.75" card. Very good or better with light rumpling and few small stains. Understandably scarce. Signed.

dj. First Edition. First edition. Limited to 1000 copies. This one SIGNED BY BROUGHTON on half-title page. A play with illustrations by Daniel Harris in his first appearance as "Zev." The first book from the Centaur Press, which was founded by Broughton and Kermit Sheet. INSCRIBED WITH A LARGE DRAWING BY ZEV on front endpaper, "…For Herbert and Zelda/ & Co./ With Love! Love! Love!/ Love! Love!/ From Zev/ (& his spouse)/ Sept 1951." The drawing depicts a father returning home to his wife and two children with what appears to be an airplane in his hands. Very good with paperclip impression and touch of rust affecting small area of inscription, small area of fading and touch of wear at head of spine, and boards slightly sprung; in a good or better dust jacket that is lightly chipped and somewhat tanned. Signed.

Additionally SIGNED by Daniel Harris as Zev (with a small drawing and a date of 1/29/49) and publisher Kermit Sheets just below Brough…ton's inscription. Writer and filmmaker James Broughton was a key figure in the San Francisco Renaissance, and was a member of the Radical Faeries from the group's early beginnings. Broughton and Sheets collaborated in 1953 on the short film "The Pleasure Garden," shot in England and winner of the Prix de Fantasie Poetique at Cannes in 1954. Very Good plus in a Very Good dust jacket. Light foxing throughout, with faint offsetting on the endpapers. Jacket moderately soiled and edgeworn, with a few small splashes on the bottom left corner of the front panel. Signed.
