An uncommonly important poet, Daniel Haberman, who fought alongside other American members of the Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War, eventually a member of the American Communist Party (and later served with valor in W.W.I.I.). He eventually won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1969. His Wikipedia entry notes his death in 1984. Augmented with the fine line-drawings of Jan Stussy and SIGNED by the author at first free endpaper, inscribed warmly to the previous owner, the Classicist, Peter Morris Green, in clear academic appreciation, "with all good wishes" and then dated. A nice-looking exemplar in First Edition, First Printing state, bound simply in white linen cloth over boards, sharp and distinct lettering to spine. The boards remain clean and sharp, gilt titling to the spine, with the 1612 ('Bellott v Mountjoy') signature in gilt to the upper front board. (The book remains essentially near fine.) The slipcase remains square and tight, but shows a light surface stain to the 'front', and some fraying of the cloth to the edges of the 'back', with a few additional though trifling marks.
