Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Operational design is an intellectual exercise that draws on the creative vision, experience, intuition, and judgment of commanders to provide a framework for development of detailed operation plans. Recently, a number of authors have questioned the continued relevance of the classic elements of operational design (CEOD) approach in the contemporary operating environment (COE) suggesting that we may be facing a â?~crisis in operational design'. This monograph explores this potential crisis in operational design from a Canadian Forces (CF) perspective and examines the CF CEOD methodology with a particular focus on theoretical underpinnings. Subsequently, this paper examines an Israeli Defense Force (IDF) operational design methodology, Systemic Operational Design (SOD), and compares it to the CF CEOD methodology to determine whether it might offer useful insights for practitioners of operational design in the COE. This monograph concludes that SOD is based on theoretical underpinnings that more accurately reflect the COE and a clearer and more functional conception of operational design. Finally, this monograph recommends that the CF explore SOD with a view to adopting an operational design methodology better suited to the COE.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This is a story to inspire the next generation of mountain bikers." - David Wiens, Executive Director, International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) A must-read story for families seeking epic fresh air adventure. "Today is the perfect day for a mountain bike ride," Ryan tells her beloved labrador, Charlie. Ryan is a courageous young girl who loves weaving through trees, climbing over rocks, and zooming down hills on her bicycle. But before she can hit the trails with her Mommy and Daddy, Ryan's body needs fuel, her tires need air, and Charlie needs a belly rub. Soon, she's fully immersed in the sights and sounds of the surrounding forest. Leaves crunch, birds chirp, and mud splish-splashes against her sweaty skin. On her mountain bike, Ryan feels free! But it's not all smooth sailing. Steep hills challenge her endurance, and when Ryan takes a rough tumble, her resilience is put to the test. As Ryan discovers that the view is always worth the climb, this sweet outdoor adventure narrative celebrates the pure magic that happens on two wheels. At the end of the book, readers can find the recipe for Ryan's wholesome and delicious pre-ride breakfast along with A Family Guide to Keeping Kids Safe While Mountain Biking!

Zustand: Good. Original pictorial wraps. 18.2 x 25.8cm. 56pp.The Motion Picture Library was a pioneering bilingual film publication launched in Tokyo in post-WWII Japan (1946-1948). Aimed at bridging American pop culture and Japanese audiences, it printed full English scripts, actor profiles, and bilingual synopses of imports like Casablanca. The emergence of these bilingual or heavily translated film resources during the mid-1940s marked a dramatic cultural shift. Following wartime censorship and the total ban of foreign films, the sudden influx of Hollywood movies under the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers (SCAP) created a boom in cine-literacy. ."M?shon pikuch? raiburar?" wa, dainijisekaitaisengo no Nihon (1946-nen ? 1948-nen) ni oite, T?ky? de s?kan sa reta senku-tekina bairingaru eiga shuppan-monodeatta.
