The leaf- and carpoflora of the Late Oligocene Fossil-Lagerst?tte Enspel (Westerwald, Rhineland-Palatinate, W-Germany) The well oreserved macroflora from the Late Oligocene of Enspel (Westerwald, Rhineland-Palatinate) is composed of 74 taxa according to our current state of knowledge (43 taxa based on leaves, 29 taxa based on carpological remains, as well as 2 taxa based on leaves and carpological remains). The new species Alangium enspelense K?hler sp. nov. is described. Besides the taxonomy of the flora this work provides palaeoecological interpretations for the source vegetation. The vegetation is dominated by zonal assemblages of a mesophytic forest, with a strong East-Asian influence. The forest consisted of four storeys and reached the lake which was characterized by mostly steep margins. Azonale elements (aquatic and semi-aquatic plants, riparian forest) are only represented based on approx. 15% of the taphoflora. The dissertation follows this thread by comparing the impacts of natural gas vehicles on human health and the environment with those of reference vehi cles fueled by petrol and Diesel. Within this framework, a new method for the assessment of impacts on human health is developed and applied.
