The winners were B. van Hove and Frantz Vermeylen [fr] for the sculptures, Georg Sturm [nl] for the tile panels and painting and W.F. Dixon for the stained glass. The museum was opened at its new location on 13 July 1885. This book, published in 1897, shows the plans, the building, the windows, the mosaic floors, the ornaments in detail and partly in color. Cuypers (1827-1921), also known as Pierre Cuypers, was responsible for the design of many churches in neo-Gothic style in the Netherlands. In his more profane designs in Amsterdam like the Rijksmuseum and the Central Station he added Renaissance elements. Magnificent work describing the newly built Rijksmuseum in -original - detail , the Rijksmuseum is currently closed due to a major modernization. This work has also been published in Dutch with the same plates under the titel: Het Rijks-Museum te Amsterdam [1896-1898] and is currently depicted by the Dutch Royal Library as an example of a fine and rare illustrated work from the 19th century on their website. In contrary to the more common dutch edition we have only located two copies of this french edition in the Netherlands: The Dutch Royal Library & the Rijksmuseum itself. Only the dutch edition (5x) in OCLC: 359681. Condition : very good copy. Keywords : ARCHITECTURE, Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
