Curtis was a member of the Brook Farm Community in the early 1840s, he was editorial writer for "Harper's Monthly" and then after 1863 editor of "Harpers Weekly." He was an influential writer and lecturer, among his publications "The Potiphar Papers" "Lotus Eating" and "Prue and I." From the autograph collection of W. P. Webster. To Charles W. Hutchinson.
