Ethnography and history of the Ulanga Valley Bena tribe from the East African wetlands in present day Tanzania. The Culwicks write in the Preface, "We have attempted to put before the reader not necessarily an exhaustive study but a balanced picture of the life and outlook of a typical Bantu tribe.
