Lincoln Ellsworth was a polar explorer and a major benefactor of the American Museum of Natural History. Frederick Russell Burnham, world-traveling adventurer, taught woodcraft to Robert Baden-Powell and helped inspire the international Scouting Movement. Henry Wharton Shoemaker was a prominent American folklorist, historian, diplomat, writer, publisher, and conservationist.
