Writing from Kilconquhar, Fife, Lindsay asks for "your Lordship's support and influence at the approaching Election." A useful survival illustrating the electoral process by which Scottish Representative… Peers were chosen to sit in the House of Lords after the Union of 1707. Alexander William Crawford Lindsay, later 25th Earl of Crawford and 8th Earl of Balcarres, was a prominent Scottish nobleman, politician, author and patron of the arts. Apparently unrecorded. Folded as issued, with light creasing and minor wear. Very good condition overall.
