In comparison, this collection comprises the traditional dishes of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, distinctly national and uninfluenced of the cookery of other countries.Recipes include hot cross buns, kedgeree, shepherd's pie, toad-in-the-hole, treacle pudding and gooseberry fool.Written by Countess Morphy, the pen name of Marcelle Azra Hincks, a British food writer, dance critic and cookery demonstrator who was born in New Orleans in 1883, moving to England as a young girl in 1891. 'Recipes of All Nations' is arguably her best known work, which also included two chapter on 'The Creole Cookery of New Orleans'.
