In fair condition, ex-lib with all normal marks, dark green original cloth which is faded, each volume has green library tape on spines, the two vol. II still have the original spine label which is chipped and worn. The set has all six maps, the map in Vol. I has a short tear at the joint, the 1st map in Vol II Part I has a long horizontal clean tear. There is minor pencil marginalia in each volume, many pages never separated, in Vol. II part II there are tear at the top edge at the beginning where someone tried inexpertly to separate, pg 393-396 have a long clean tear from the top edge. Vol. II, Part II has some cracking at the hinges and the most wear, in general. The gift inscription -- to a Presbyterian college in Canada -- appears to be that of the noted Edinburgh antiquarian David Laird (1793 1878).
