Blue cloth covered hard boards, with gilt to spine and gilt lettering and decoration to upper board. Original edition was printed in 1921, and the author died at sea less than one month after publication. This edition was issued by Donnelly who has written a prefatory note including a tribute to Plant. Donnelly was a shipping agent on the Yangtze River in the 1920's and 1930's and wrote several books on similar subjects including 'Chinese Junks and other Native Craft' and 'The China Coast'. Book is in Near Fine condition.
