Beginning at the front and rear hinges but firm. Light foxing and toning to end papers and a small pencil name. Contents are very clean and probably unread due to a number of uncut edges. Tipped in errata slip. An easy introduction to the science and a complete body of armory. Including the arts of Blazoning and Marshalling, with full directions for making of pedigrees and information as to records, &c. Illustrated by nearly 3000 examples drawn by Mr W Clafton, Heraldic artist. 1.7kg packed for outside NZ.

Bookplate of a previous owner to the front pastedown, the body of text unmarked. Twenty four plates, large folding map. The plates are clean and unmarked, the map, the frontispiece and the pre-lims at both front and rear are foxed. A heavy volume which will attract a request for additional postage if ordered from locations outside the United Kingdom.

Folio, each measuring 12 3/4" x 9 1/4". Uniformly bound in blue cloth and lettered gilt, top edges gilt, fore and bottom edges rough-trimmed. Lightly rubbed and creased to the head and foot of the spines, bottom leading corners of the boards knocked. Minor uneven fading to the cloth, light ink splash stain to one upper and one lower board. Details of a previous owner to the front pastedowns has been part obscured by the label of a later owner. The body of the text is unmarked. Maps of the Hundreds, some illustrations to the text, portrait of the author to volume VII. A very heavy set, but price includes postage within the United Kingdom. Postage costs overseas will be substantial.
