A more modern rebind of dark blue leather spine over blue and white patterned paper covered boards in very good conditi…on with some sunning to spine, a few marks to front side of spine and a little rubbing to edges and boards. Inside, except for the very odd spot of foxing and a few marks, all pages and plates in remarkably clean and bright condition. This series was first published in monthly magazine from 1818 to 1833, Conrad and Sons published 20 issues of The Botanical Cabinet in the magazine which consisting of over 1000 coloured plates of rare plants that were introduced from around the world into the nursery's gardens and hothouses. This is a lovely copy of the 1st edition of the first volume taken from the large paper volumes. A very nice copy. Scarce. George Cooke (illustrator).
