He writes 'My dear Sir | I have the pleasure to accept your kind Invitation to Dine with you on the 4th March [amended from '28 Inst'] to meet the President and Council of the Royal Academy.' 1p., 12mo. On aged and worn paper. He regrets to inform him that 'we have still a sick house'. His 'dear Sister' has been 'very ill', but he trusts they are 'both mending'. He concludes: 'I have pleasure in enclosing a Photo of myself, and shll be pleased to be admitted to your collection'. Professor Joseph Bristow, in his paper 'Homosexual Blackmail in the 1890s', describes how, twenty years later (on 11 August 1894), at a party hosted at 46 Fitzroy Square by John Watson Preston, twenty men were arrested, including two dressed in women's clothing. Two other attendees at the party, Charles Parker and Alfred Taylor, played a major part in the circumstances which resulted in Oscar Wilde's conviction for gross indecency the following year.

See his entry, and those of his father and Cooke, in the Oxford DNB. 2pp, 16mo. In fair condition, lightly aged, with dab or red wax to one corner, and part of another corner torn away, presumably in breaking open the seal. Folded diagonally for postage. Addressed to 'My dear Mr Cooke' (the recipient's identity is beyond doubt) and signed 'Richd Westmacott'. His conscience will not let him 'rest under a doubt - and the 5 or 6 bits of Joy growing up in front of my window will plague me every time I look at them if I fancy either of them there sprouting unfairly come by.' He asks him not to think him 'over punctilious then in sending you the price of 20 3.' In any case he is 'still much indebted; for that which was a poor mangy-looking wall is now pretty well covered'. He ends with 'Compts to the Ladies'.

Manuskript / Papierantiquität
See the entries for Robinson and Cooke in the Oxford DNB. 3pp, 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, folded twice. Addressed to 'My dear Mr Cooke'. Cooke's 'friendly note' about the time he 'proposed setting out for Deal' was received on the Thursday, and the Robinsons are 'glad indeed to hear that your dear Mother is again restored to her usual health'. The Robinsons think that 'change of occupation & fresh air together, may have the desired effect both as regards yourself & your son Conrad'. The present season has been a 'trying' one, and Robinson gives a brief description of his own indisposition. He hopes that he can meet Cooke 'on Thursday week, the day before the private view'. A reference to 'Mr & Mrs Cope' follows. Robinson is sorry that the 'programme' Cooke has 'sketched' leaves 'little chance of our seeing you before you return from Stratford'. He ends by informing Cooke that his wife is 'pretty well'. Conrad Cooke's entry in Grace's Guide stresses his electrical work (he designed and installed first electric light on the Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament) and his early promotion of the telephone.
