Preserving the Palestinian oral history is an initiative of the Saint Joseph School for Girls in Bethlehem to enhance the student's sense of belonging and connection to their past Palestinian heritage, customs and traditions. Concerned about losing the personal experience of the grandparents and knowing that those will not be found in history books, we designed an assignment in the English Language curriculum to interview the parents and grandparents of the 11th grade students (16-17 year olds). Neither the grandparents/parents nor the students claim to be accurate historians. One of the objectives was to document real life experiences and personal stories from the different periods that Palestine was occupied, and compare that life with the present situation. Our main aim is to preserve our history. Illustrated. 142 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. Academic and Scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Educational Reference Literature.).…
