Moderate to heavy soil to covers, with chipping to edges. Spine has almost completely chipped away, and leaves are disbound with only fragments of the binding string remaining. Top corner (12 x 7 mm) of both title page and first plate have torn away. Small bump to bottom corner of text block, resulting in some very small diagonal creases to bottom corner of some plates. All 15 plates are present, clean, and in very good condition. . Disbound. Fair.

Zustand: Très bon état. in-4, percaline verte de l'éditeur ornée d'encadrements à froid sur les plats. Jolie suite de 15 gravures du peintre Compte-Calix, directeur artistique de la revue Les Modes Parisiennes. Ces planches délicatement coloriées et rehaussées à l'or soulignent la richesse des étoffes dans les cours d'Ancien Régime. Exemplaire en belle condition avec les gravures sous serpentes parfaitement conservées.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Small folio. 15 handcolored plates. Publisher's brown cloth gilt. Ex-library copy with spine letters, bookplate, pocket, and perforated stamps on all plates, spine taped with canvas tape, edgewear on the boards, a sound good plus copy.

First work- title (slightly stained) and 12 FINE ENGRAVED PLATES and second work- title and 6 FINELY HAND COLOURED PLATES. Except for the first title all in good condition. A total of 18 plates showing the very grandest doings of the upper class Parisians in the mid nineteenth century- the 6 hand coloured ones are superb including scenes of a grand sledge ride, the opera and hunting.

Bound without the title page.Plates 6,7,8,9 and 12 have been illuminated with gold leaf.A very bright example of this work. In a half morocco binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright. Occasional light spots to pages. Near Fine. book.
