Observations were taken at 09.30 daily and in the same form, thereby providing good understanding of the climate at any one time during the period across the localities surveyed, the specific intention being for understanding of what the troops stationed in the various localities would experience. The observations (typically barometric pressure, temperature ranges and precipitation) are printed by location, the tables followed by observations made locally as to weather experienced, plant growth and prevalence of infectious and other diseases being variously included. Southampton. 3 huge elephant folio volumes, each approximately 567mm x 420mm. Due to size, this set is usually found in distressed, disbound condition, but these examples remain bound.
