A little discolouration and light marks to the spine, as is usual with a vellum binding. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light marks to the boards, including a ring mark to the front board. Fading to the head and tail of the front board, and to the tail of the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Good. book.

This work of sporting history discusses the chasing of Wild Red Deer in Devon and Somerset, in particular this work explores the history of the sport from the years 1780 to 1860. Offering an insight into this breed of deer and the history of the hunt, this work also features notable anecdotes and instances of Deer hunts of the past. Previous owner ink inscription to the front endpaper. Illustrated with numerous vignettes throughout and 8 full page plates by E. Caldwell. Collated complete. Rebacked with the original cloth backstrip preserved. Externally lightly rubbed to the spine and extremities. The odd handling mark to the front and rear boards. Offsetting to the front and rear endpapers. Ink inscription to the front endpaper. Internally firmly bound.
