They are however, secure and sure. The contents have general evidence of use throughout: there are some light handling marks, some mild, shallow creases. Tightly bound in green cloth with gilded titles. Very light shelf wear, 1/2" chip at the spine head and 1" slit at gutter, otherwise Very Good. Contents are tight with very light smudging. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no external indications of the library's ownership.
