Printed coloured certificate measuring approx. 13 x 8 inches (33 x 20 cms), depicting regimental colour, some mild age-soiling else a very good, bright, clean copy. The certificate is signed by Coldstreamers Lord Desmond Chichester (1920-2000), Colonel George Burns (1911-1997) and several others.

Original photographic print measuring 7.5 x 28.25 ins (approx. 19.0 x 71.75 cms). The photograph depicts the Commanding Officer, Adjutant, Quartermaster and Non Commissioned Officers, Training Battalion, Coldstream Guards, Pirbright Camp, Surrey. It was taken in 1939 just before embarkation for France with the BEF. We are indebted to Graham Alcock (whose father and uncle appear in the picture) for contextual information. A SUPERB AND MOST UNUSUAL MOMENTO OF THE BATTALION IN WWII. EXTREMELY SCARCE.

(at the dinner celebrating their 200th Anniversary), printed in gold in a most attractive lacy impressed border, the music (conducted by Charles Godfrey, 1790-1863, bandmaster to the Coldstream Guards for 50 years, father of Daniel and grandfather of Sir Dan Godfrey), including a 'Valse et Galop de Fascination' from 'Alina' by Gounod, a selection from Mozart's Figaro, a waltz, 'Les Plaisirs du Bal', by Mrs. A. Woodford, (Charlotte Mary Ann, née Fraser, d. 1870), and ending with a 'Double March Composed by H.R.H. the Princess Mary of Cambridge', (Mary Adelaide, 1833-1897, mother of Queen Mary), 1 side 9" x 7½" and conjugate blank, St James's Palace, 22nd May in fine condition Although Prince Albert could nor be present, he took great interest in the occasion and got the Queen's permission to have the State Banqueting Room at St James's. It had often been used by William IV, but this was only the second time in the new reign, the first being his own and the Queen's wedding in 1840. Among those present was Major-General Alexander Woodford, (1782-1870), who had commanded the 2nd Battalion at Quatre Bras on the 16th and at Waterloo on the 18th June 1815. On the 21st May 1850 he had presented to the regiment the tattered colours borne at Waterloo. Earlier on the 22nd they had been displayed at the feast for the 1400 non-commissioned officers and men at their barracks (and at which the Duke of Cambridge sat chatting among the privates), and now occupied a place of honour. Of the 140 present, the oldest Coldstreamer was the 9th Marquess of Huntly, (1761-1853), who had left the regiment in 1790. The Duke of Cambridge (Adolphus, 1774-1850) had been colonel-in-chief since 1813.
