Geschrieben ist es ftir diejenigen, die mit Hardware arbeiten. Es liefert Informa tionen und Einzelheiten über die Organisation eines typischen 68000-Systems. Es be schreibt die Systemsteuerung und wie man die Fehlersuche mit einem Minimum von Software betreibt. Damit ein Buch dieser Art eine wirkliche Unterstützung bei der Hardware-Fehler suche sein kann, ist es wichtig, daß es auf die genauen Einzelheiten der Schaltungen ein geht und Pinzahlen und logische Spannungspegel an verschiedenen Prüfpunkten angibt. Eben das wird in diesem Buch geleistet. Um einige Fehlersuch-Strategien anzuwenden, muß man die Software erlernen und einen hohen Grad von Übung in ihrer Anwendung erreichen. Dieses Problem stellt auch ein großes Hindernis für die Techniker dar, die bereits über digitale Hardware Bescheid wissen und die möglicherweise mit 8 Bit-Mikroprozessoren vertraut sind, aber die die 68000-Software nicht kennen. Aus diesem Grund und anderer Vorteile wegen behandelt dieses Buch den statischen Stimuliertest. Der statische Stimuliertest ist eine Technik zur Hardware-Überprüfung, die sowohl unabhängig von Software als auch leistungsfähig bei der Lokalisierung von Hardware Fehlfunktionen ist. Er ist eine einfache Ausweitung von Digitaltechniken, die bereits vielen bekannt sind, auf das Feld von Mikroprozessorsystemen.
