Softcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Illustrated stiff wrappers perfect bound with blue plastic fastener. No place, no date but circa 1978 from internal evidence. 75 pp. Illustrated with photos. Near fine. Rare, privately produced biography of Singer, songwriter and actor Dick Haymes (1918-1980). A native of Argentina though with an Irish mother and English father), Haymes was one of the most popular male crooners of the 1940s and early 1950s. He sang with the Harry James "big band" orchestra and in 1942, he replaced Frank Sinatra in the Tommy Dorsey band. In Hollywood he appeared in a number of moveis including "State Fair" and from 1944 to 1948 had his own radio program "The Dick Haymes Show" carried first on NBC and later on CBS. We find no listings anywhere for this biuography.
