Draft script (carbon typescript) and scenario (offset printing) for the 1966 French film, here under the working title, "Convoi pour Dien-Bien-Phu." Released in the US as "The Postman Goes to War" (1968). Numerical notation in manuscript pencil on one page. Also included is the original manila folder used to house the material, with the working title in manuscript red ink on the flap. Based on Gautier's titular novel (1966). Jean-Claude Thibon (Aznavour) is a postman in Paris who accepts a position in the army during the Indochina War. He is wounded in combat and sent to the hospital, where he falls in love with Vang (Maria Minh), a young Vietnamese nurse. Shot on location in Cambodia. Title page present, integral with front wrapper, undated, with credits for director Bernard-Aubert, novelist Gautier, and dialogue writer Accursi. 197 leaves, with last page of text numbered 212. Carbon typescript. Very Good plus, bound with two silver binder clips.
