Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. First Edition. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover, clean, if lightly toned interior, minimal rubbing to extremities. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, moderately worn and a bit soiled, price-clipped, protected by a plastic coat. Some light foxing to endpapers else quite bright and clean. The poet, Wilfred Rowland Childe (1890?1952), was a British author, educated at Harrow School and Magdalen College, Oxford, says his Wikipedia entry, and he edited Oxford Poetry in 1916 and 1917, teaching English literature at the University of Leeds in 1922. He is best known for Dream English: A Fantastical Romance (1917), "something of a minor cult book" (Wikipedia). 60 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.

In 1922 Sydney Matthewman had included a verse by Childre in his publication 'Seven: A book of Verses by 7 Poets'. In the following year the press also issued a collection by Childe - 'The Hills of Morning'. Overall book condition is Very Good. Size: 5.75 x 8.5 inches (15 x 21.5 cm). Signed by Author.

Matthewman was a literary agent who also ran the Swan Press in Leeds. Iin 1922 he included a verse by Childe in his publication 'Seven: A book of verses by 7 poets'. In the following year the press also issued a collection by Childe - 'The Hills of Morning'. Inside the front wrapper is Matthewman's engraved bookplate. A very scarce title, with interesting provenance, but sadly with damage. Overall condition is Fair. Size: 5.5 x 7.5 inches (14 x 19 cm). Paperback. Printed pages: 8vo. 68. Signed by Author.
