Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - John's narrative begins with a powerful wave that knocked him off his feet, flipping him upside down, leaving him shattered and unable to move anything below his neck. The stream of 'what now ' questions that emerged in the wake of losing his independence set the stage for the soul-searching explored in these pages. As he began therapy to recover from his spinal cord injury, he also began to reflect on the early years of his life, connecting to the strength and resilience he learned while navigating other losses. The stories in this book are meant to help readers see their own strengths by relating to the common thread of human experience and the importance of our connection with each other. John's desire in sharing his very personal experience is that he will be able to help people to find hope in their own journeys and that they will realize that they are not alone.

Fort Ticonderoga, formerly Fort Carillon, is a large 18th-century star fort built by the French at a narrows near the south end of Lake Champlain, in northern New York, in the United States. It was constructed by Canadian-born French military engineer Michel Chartier de Lotbinière, Marquis de Lotbinière between October 1755 and 1757, during the action in the North American theater of the Seven Years' War, often referred to in the US as the French and Indian War. The fort was of strategic importance during the 18th-century colonial conflicts between Great Britain and France, and again played an important role during the American Revolutionary War. Contains 96 printed pages of text with archive monochrome illustrations and maps throughout. Slight soiling to the pale cream card covers and in Very Good condition, no dust wrapper as issued.
