Cloth. Zustand: Very Good. Charles G. Harper (illustrator). An early edition of this charming history of picturesque English inns by travel writer Charles G. Harper. The first reprint of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. An evocative historical guide to old, picturesque English inns by the author and illustrator Charles G. Harper (1863 1943), with an index of the inns to the rear of the volume. Harper was well-known as a travel writer who illustrated his own work, as he does in this volume with 47 pen and ink drawings. 100 pages of advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally fairly smart, with some small faint marks to the boards and fading to the spine. Minor shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, except for some underlining to the index with coloured pencil. Very Good. book.
