Koldo Chamorro fue un fotógrafo autodidacta desde 1965 hasta 1972, año en que le fue concedida una beca Castellblach para realizar estudios fotográficos en el extranjero, lo que le permitió trabajar con maestros como Ansel Adams, Brassaï o Ernst Haas, entre otros. Fue miembro de «Minority Photographers» enNueva York y, en España, uno de los fundadores del ya disuelto «Grupo Alabern», participando en la corriente fotográfica documental. Entre la década de los setenta y ochenta, su obra refleja los usos y costumbres de la sociedad rural y urbana en los últimos estertores del franquismo; Chamorro trabajó en la conservación de un imaginario a punto de extinguirse. La serie «El Santo Christo Ibérico», sitúa al símbolo del Catolicismo, la cruz, como la protagonista absoluta de una narrativa que revelaba las contradicciones de un país que, por un lado, ansiaba la llegada de la modernidad, y por otro, permanecía anclado en un paisaje ancestral. *** Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente.
